Service Description

Resin Fine Arts Immersion (Fall2) Wednesdays 1-3pm, 7 sessions Starts November 5th - 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17 If you are seeking to create art with resin, this is the class for you. In this course, we will learn about the different types of resin and how they can be utilized in various art forms. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this class will introduce you to resin as a contemporary medium for expressive, high-impact artwork. Learn how to combine resin with pigments, inks, metallics, and a variety of mixed media materials to create stunning layered compositions. You will gain a greater understanding of the versatility of resin and how it can be applied and utilized in conjunction with a broad array of materials. Sample projects may include: What You'll Learn: Safe handling and professional mixing techniques for epoxy resin How to build multi-layered artwork using color theory and composition principles Incorporating natural elements (e.g., wood, crystals, botanicals) into resin Creating texture and depth with mica, acrylics, and alcohol inks Techniques for pouring, manipulating flow, and curing Projects may include: Abstract wall panels, resin-coated photography, geode-style art, and mixed media collage on wood or canvas. Resin, paint, mica powders, inks, embellishments and other materials provided for small-format projects on canvas and panels (under 9x12”) Students are asked/encouraged to bring personal mementos and preferred items when appropriate to embed or personalize their art projects. In addition, students will need to supply their own wood panels or canvases for large-format projects.
